Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dunch handles information when you use a restaurant storefront powered by Dunch. It applies to Dunch’s website, storefronts, and founder-operated menu importer.
1. What Dunch does
Dunch helps restaurants turn a menu selection into a structured order message for WhatsApp. Dunch records a checkout entry in the restaurant’s dedicated Google Sheet before opening WhatsApp. The customer reviews the message and decides whether to send it.
2. Information collected for an order
When you place an order through a storefront, we process the information you provide and the information needed to calculate and record the order:
- name and local phone number;
- selected items, quantities, prices, offers, and notes;
- delivery or pickup choice, delivery address, and an optional map link;
- cash or card-on-delivery preference; and
- checkout reference, time, and restaurant-managed order status.
Dunch also receives limited technical information required to operate and secure the website, such as request and error information. We avoid putting full order details, addresses, phone numbers, or map links in platform logs.
3. How information is used
We use order information only to display the menu, validate the order, calculate totals, append the checkout entry to the selected restaurant’s sheet, and create the prefilled WhatsApp message. We may also use limited technical information to maintain security, prevent misuse, and fix faults.
4. Who receives the information
The restaurant you choose receives the order information in its dedicated Google Sheet and, if you press Send, through WhatsApp. Dunch uses Google Sheets to operate the restaurant’s menu and order log and Vercel to host the storefront. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services. WhatsApp handles any message you choose to send under its own terms and privacy policy.
The restaurant is responsible for fulfilling the order and for how it handles information in its own systems. If you have a question about an order, please contact that restaurant directly.
5. What Dunch does not do in this pilot
- We do not collect or process online payments or card details.
- We do not use the WhatsApp Business Platform, read WhatsApp chats, or verify that a message was sent.
- We do not sell customer personal information.
- We do not currently build customer profiles, run bulk marketing, or use customer behaviour for advertising or retargeting.
6. Retention
Dunch does not create a separate customer account or customer database for pilot orders. Checkout entries remain in the restaurant’s dedicated Google Sheet until the restaurant deletes them or applies its own retention process. Dunch retains only limited operational records for as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, and legal obligations.
7. Your choices and requests
Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information that Dunch controls. For an order held by a restaurant, contacting the restaurant directly is usually the fastest route. You may also contact Dunch at nihal@factorspaces.com. We may need information to verify the request before acting on it.
8. Children
Dunch is not designed for children to provide personal information independently. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to Dunch, contact us and we will review the request.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Dunch evolves. The current version and its update date will always be available on this page.
